Okay this is kinda a cheat post because it's going to be really short - but C & I dropped by Sloane Bros for some froyo after Dinerama because we needed somewhere warm to hide out in (yeah the irony is not lost on me) & I'm glad we did because it's a cute place that's really colourful and it's some good froyo. C & I ended up sitting around till 10pm when they had to close and at no point did we feel less than welcome!
Flavoured froyo is my fav (sorry to all the purists out there) so I was pretty excited by the selection here! because I miss my sogurt days in Singapore ):
I have to say though, the service was pretty good! Maybe because it was really empty (which unfortunately usually makes me doubt the place) but the staff welcomed us in and offered to let us try! (ok I was totally won over by the free samples I didn't even have to ask for). And they don't just give you a tiny spoon of free samples the way ice cream parlours do, but they have these cute mini cups (that probably fit like 2 heaping spoonfuls of froyo) so you could probably be a cheapskate and have your worth on free samples yay
I tried Gingerbread, Christmas Pudding and Chocolate Hazelnut! And settled with Gingerbread (medium, $3.65) because of the festive spirit~! Also because I really like the taste of Gingerbread, obviously. The froyo here is not the tart kind, and not overly creamy (so kind of more like sogurt than llaollao for the Singaporeans out there) which is how I like my froyo but I am aware that not everybody does, so all I can say is that the flavour makes up for the texture, really. Christmas Pudding had more of a spice kind of taste? But I felt like that was a bit watery and couldn't hold its shape as well. Chocolate Hazelnut was good - it was really rich! And I would have gotten it if it wasn't a month away from Christmas (because ordering anything normal when there are Christmas options available is a CRIME)
They had this funny story on the wall haha
